HKS Creative Media is an independent digital studio based in Canada, engaged in the development of mobile applications, interactive entertainment, and media management tools for iOS, Android, and web platforms. Our products are developed and distributed under the domain hksltd.ca.

We collect information in the following categories, depending on which services you use:
Information You Provide Directly
- Name and contact information when you reach out to us via email or contact forms
- Account credentials if you register for any of our services or applications
- Feedback, support requests, or communications you send to us
- Preferences and settings you configure within our applications
Information Collected Automatically
- Device identifiers, operating system type and version, and app version
- IP address and approximate geographic region (country or city level)
- Usage data such as features accessed, session duration, and interaction logs
- Crash reports and diagnostic data for the purpose of improving application stability
- Referral source (e.g., how you arrived at our website or application listing)
Information from Third-Party Platforms
- If you connect a third-party account (such as a Google or YouTube account) to one of our applications, we may receive information made available through that platform's API in accordance with its own terms of service and your permissions
- We do not access third-party account data beyond what is expressly required for the functionality of the relevant application feature

How We Use Your Information
HKS Creative Media uses collected information solely for legitimate operational and developmental purposes. Specifically, we use your information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve our applications and services
- Respond to your inquiries, support requests, and feedback
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues and application errors
- Understand how our products are used in order to improve user experience
- Ensure compliance with applicable platform requirements (including Apple App Store and Google Play Store guidelines)
- Send you relevant communications about significant service updates, where you have opted in
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

Third-Party Services & Integrations
Some of our applications integrate with third-party platforms and services. These integrations are subject to the privacy policies of the respective third parties, and your use of such integrations constitutes acceptance of those policies.
Third-party services that may be relevant to our applications include:
- YouTube / Google APIs — used within our media applications to access and display video content you authorize. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.
- Apple App Store / TestFlight — distribution and testing infrastructure governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Store — Android distribution infrastructure governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Analytics Services — we may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand application usage. Where used, these are configured to minimize personal data collection.
HKS Creative Media is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party platforms. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services connected to our applications.

Data Storage & Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:
- Encryption of data in transit using industry-standard TLS protocols
- Restricted access to personal data, limited to personnel with a legitimate operational need
- Use of reputable, established hosting and infrastructure providers
- Regular review of our data handling practices
While we take data security seriously, no system is completely immune to risk. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify affected individuals in accordance with applicable law.
Our primary infrastructure and services operate from servers located in Canada and/or the United States. If you are located outside of these jurisdictions, your information may be transferred to and processed in these countries.

Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Specifically:
- Account and usage data is retained for the duration of your active use of our services, plus a reasonable period thereafter for legal and operational purposes
- Support and communication records are retained for up to 24 months
- Diagnostic and crash data is typically retained for 12 months
- You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7)

Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Right of Access — you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Right of Correction — you may request that inaccurate information be corrected
- Right of Deletion — you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to applicable legal obligations
- Right to Withdraw Consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
- Right to Object — you may object to processing of your information in certain circumstances
- Right to Data Portability — where applicable, you may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at winter@hksltd.ca. We will respond within 30 days. There is no fee to make a request. We may require verification of your identity before processing certain requests.
Canadian residents are protected under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. You may also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Section 08
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without appropriate parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

AI-Assisted Development
HKS Creative Media uses artificial intelligence tools to assist in the design, development, and iteration of our products and services. This use is limited to internal development workflows and does not involve sharing user personal data with AI systems for training or external processing purposes.
AI tools are used as a design and engineering aid — not as a decision-making system with authority over user data. Any outputs from AI-assisted development are reviewed and refined by our team before incorporation into products.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Our website (hksltd.ca) may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate core functionality and understand how visitors interact with our content. Specifically:
- Essential Cookies — required for the website to function correctly. These cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.
- Analytics Cookies — used on an opt-in basis to understand traffic patterns and improve site content. These do not identify you personally.
- Preference Cookies — used to remember settings or preferences you have configured.
You may control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features. Our mobile applications do not use browser cookies; any equivalent data collection is covered under Section 2.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or the services we offer. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice through our applications or via email.
Continued use of our services following the posting of a revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
